qd facial stem cell
Facial stem cell therapy at QD Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, uses a regenerative, cell-based approach to support the skin’s own renewal — aiming to improve firmness, texture and overall skin quality on the face. Because it is a medical procedure, we begin with a skin and health assessment, then our medical team confirms whether it is appropriate for you and how it is delivered. (Results vary by individual.)
is this for me
Who it’s for
Even if none of these describes you, we will look again at the consultation.
- Dullness, rough texture or early loss of firmness on the face
- Those interested in a regenerative approach to skin quality
- Anyone who prefers a plan tailored after a medical assessment
Stem cell therapy is a medical procedure. Whether it is appropriate for you — and which option is used — is decided by our medical team at consultation.
Before you pick a treatment name, start with the cause of your concern.
start with your concern
Even a treatment with the same name takes on a different role and scope depending on your current structure, the change you want, what you have had before and the recovery time you have.
01
Where you are now, and where we start
What is actually injected, where it comes from, how it is processed, and what it is meant to do for the skin
02
The change you want, the impression you keep
We first put what you expect into words, then separate what is medically possible from what is not.
03
How it differs from similar options
Against standard treatment, nutritional support and everyday care, we compare what differs and what overlaps, with the evidence.
04
Health information and recovery schedule
Diagnosed conditions, medication, allergies, possible pregnancy and your test results are checked before anything is given.
the
principle
Rather than the word “stem cell”, we check on paper what the actual ingredients are, where they come from, how they are processed, their regulatory status and the clinical evidence for the intended use.
Regenerative cell therapy is understood to act largely through the growth factors and signaling molecules that such cells release. These signals can prompt fibroblasts — the cells that build collagen and elastin — to become more active, supporting the skin’s natural renewal over the following weeks. On the face, treatment is directed at areas of texture and firmness identified during assessment. The specific material, preparation and delivery method are determined by the medical team according to your evaluation and applicable regulations.

How it works
01
A cell-based, signaling approach
Rather than resurfacing the skin, the approach relies on the growth factors and signaling molecules that regenerative cells release, understood to act as messengers to the skin’s own repair processes.
02
Fibroblasts are the target
The signals are directed at fibroblasts — the cells that build collagen and elastin. Supporting their activity is the mechanism behind the skin-quality changes people look for.
03
Placed where the skin needs it
On the face, material is directed at the areas of texture and firmness identified during assessment. The specific material, preparation and delivery method are determined by the medical team under applicable regulations.
04
A gradual, renewal-led change
Because it works with the skin’s natural renewal, any change appears over the following weeks rather than immediately. (Results vary by individual.)
The same treatment, never the same plan.
the qd standard
Rather than a fashionable name or a fixed package, we weigh the structure found at examination, safety, recovery and the limits within one plan.
- 01DIAGNOSIS FIRSTCause before nameWe first separate out the tissue and the function behind your concern.
- 02LESS, PRECISEOnly as much as neededRather than an excessive change, we plan the smallest scope with a clear role.
- 03HONEST LIMITThe limits, explained tooWe explain the change you can expect, the alternatives, individual differences and the risks.

From consultation to follow-up, planned as one flow.
personal plan

Purpose and health check
We check what you want it for, any diagnosed conditions, allergies, possible pregnancy, your medication and your test results.
Ingredients and evidence
We explain the exact ingredients and dose, their origin, manufacture and storage, what is approved, and what cannot be expected.
Administration and follow-up
Sterile procedure, the risks of the route used, what to do about an adverse reaction and the follow-up points are agreed in advance.
What the procedure is like
- Medical consultation, skin and health assessment
- Review of suitability, indications and consent
- Preparation and delivery of the treatment by the medical team
- Soothing and aftercare guidance
Time: Time in clinic depends on the plan and is confirmed at consultation; the session itself is usually completed within about 30–60 minutes.

what to expect
What to expect over time
A general guide to how the days and months after treatment usually unfold. Results vary by individual.
DAY 0
Treatment day
The session is completed in clinic. Temporary redness, mild swelling or tenderness at treated points may be present afterwards.
DAY 1-3
Settling
Any redness, mild swelling or small bruising at treated points generally eases over the first few days.
WEEK 1-3
Early renewal
As the skin’s own renewal is supported, the surface may gradually begin to feel smoother. This varies from person to person.
WEEK 4-8
Skin-quality change
Changes in texture and firmness, where they occur, tend to become more noticeable over these weeks. (Results vary by individual.)
REVIEW
Review & planning
Your medical team reviews the outcome and discusses whether any further session is appropriate for your skin.
Sessions & results
A single session or a short course may be advised, with changes appearing gradually as the skin renews over the following weeks. Your plan and any interval are personalized at consultation. (Results vary by individual.)
how it compares
How it compares
These are different ways to support facial skin quality. They use different materials and routes, so the right choice depends on your skin and goals.
| Facial Stem Cell (NovaStem) | Injectable skin booster | LDM Regeneration Care | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Approach | Regenerative cell-based material, placed after assessment | Hydrating and revitalizing ingredients via micro-injections | Dual-frequency ultrasound applied on the skin |
| Targets | Skin renewal through fibroblast activity | Hydration, texture and radiance | Soothing, hydration and comfort |
| Sessions | Single session or short course | A short series, then maintenance | Often repeated as a series |
| Sensation | Mild tenderness at treated points | Small pricks during injections | Gentle warmth, generally comfortable |
| Downtime | Usually limited | Little | Little to none |
Neither is “better” — they work differently and suit different goals. The right choice is decided after we assess your skin.
Before you decide, the questions people always ask
before consultation
No. Treatments sold under the label “stem cell” differ enormously from product to product in what is actually in them, where the material comes from, how it is processed and what it has been approved for. So we start with the paperwork rather than the name: what is really being injected, what evidence stands behind it, and how far the approval actually extends. Where something cannot be verified, we tell you that it cannot be verified.
Ask for the exact product name and its ingredients, the origin of the material (autologous or donor-derived), how it is manufactured and stored, and the scope of its approval in Korea. If a clinic cannot explain those four points, you are safer not having the treatment there. We go through all of them with you before the procedure.
We cannot guarantee them. Words such as “regeneration” or “anti-aging” do not prove a therapeutic effect. We set out separately what can reasonably be expected and what falls outside that, and we tell you how strong the confirmed evidence actually is. We do not present something uncertain as certain.
Not automatically. Even autologous material can lead to infection, contamination or an inflammatory reaction during harvesting, processing, storage and injection, so it cannot be treated as safe by default. That is precisely why sterile technique and careful handling matter, and we explain the exact steps we follow before the procedure.
It cannot replace it. You should never stop the standard treatment for a diagnosed condition on your own initiative, and never swap it for this procedure. If you are under treatment for a condition, please discuss it with the doctor in charge of your care and tell us which medications you take. Whether the two can run alongside each other is something we decide only after reviewing that information.
