qd v-cut injection

QD V-Cut is a lipolytic (“fat-dissolving”) injection used to refine the lower-face contour — the under-chin area, jawline and lower cheeks — by breaking down small, localized pockets of fat. At QD Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, we first assess your face shape and whether the fullness comes from fat, muscle or bone, then plan the injection points and number of sessions. A session usually takes about 15–20 minutes with little downtime. (Results vary by individual.)

is this for me

Who it’s for

Even if none of these describes you, we will look again at the consultation.

  • A soft double chin or fullness under the jaw from localized fat
  • Fullness along the lower cheeks or jowl area
  • A jawline you would like to look more defined without surgery
  • Anyone who prefers a non-surgical, injection-based option

V-Cut addresses fat, not muscle or bone. If the fullness comes from a developed jaw muscle or the bone shape, other options such as masseter Botox are discussed. Suitability is confirmed at consultation.

Before you pick a treatment name, start with the cause of your concern.

start with your concern

Even a treatment with the same name takes on a different role and scope depending on your current structure, the change you want, what you have had before and the recovery time you have.

  • 01

Where you are now, and where we start

Which of fat, swelling or muscle is actually behind the lower-face contour

  • 02

The change you want, the impression you keep

Rather than adding more volume, we decide where to fill and where to leave alone, and the line at which expression stays natural.

  • 03

How it differs from similar options

We compare what filler, Botox and skin boosters each change and what they cannot change, with the alternatives alongside them.

  • 04

    Health information and recovery schedule

Beforehand we check blood thinners, immune conditions and allergies, past injectables, possible pregnancy and the dates that matter.

the
principle

We check the ingredients and their approved use, the target fat layer and the structures around it, and explain the limits of what injections alone can change.

The injection places a lipolytic solution into small, targeted fat deposits. Its active ingredients — such as deoxycholic acid, a bile acid the body also produces — work at the membrane of fat cells so the fat is broken down and then cleared gradually through the body’s natural metabolic and lymphatic processes over the following weeks. As the area settles, some people also notice firmer-looking skin. The exact formulation, points and dose are planned for your anatomy at consultation.

QD V-Cut Injection

How it works

  • 01

    Placed, not spread

The lipolytic solution is injected into small, mapped fat pockets under the chin and along the jawline — not applied broadly — so it acts where the fullness actually sits.

  • 02

    Acting at the fat-cell membrane

Active ingredients such as deoxycholic acid, a bile acid the body also makes, work at the membrane of fat cells in the treated spot so the fat is broken down.

  • 03

    Cleared by the body

The released fat is carried away through the body’s natural metabolic and lymphatic processes over the following weeks, which is why the contour change is gradual rather than immediate.

  • 04

    Built over a few sessions

Each session treats a limited amount, so the line is refined step by step across several visits rather than all at once. (Results vary by individual.)

The same treatment, never the same plan.

the qd standard

Rather than a fashionable name or a fixed package, we weigh the structure found at examination, safety, recovery and the limits within one plan.

  • 01DIAGNOSIS FIRSTCause before nameWe first separate out the tissue and the function behind your concern.
  • 02LESS, PRECISEOnly as much as neededRather than an excessive change, we plan the smallest scope with a clear role.

personal plan

QD V-Cut is a lipolytic (“fat-dissolving”) injection used to refine the lower-face contour — the under-chin area, jawline and lower cheeks — by breaking down small, localized pockets of fat. At QD Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, we first assess your face shape and whether the fullness comes from fat, muscle or bone, then plan the injection points and number of sessions. A session usually takes about 15–20 minutes with little downtime. (Results vary by individual.)

  • Ingredients and authenticity

We check the product name, the maker, the ingredients, the expiry date and the use approved for that purpose.

  • Anatomy and expression

We look at where vessels are at risk, at muscle movement, skin thickness and the proportions of the whole face, then set the injection points.

  • Small amounts, one stage at a time

Allowing for swelling and the early response, we avoid overcorrection and top it up later if that is needed.

What the procedure is like

  1. Consultation and assessment of face shape and fat distribution
  2. Cleansing and marking of injection points
  3. Fine-needle injection of the lipolytic solution
  4. Brief pressure, cooling and aftercare guidance

Time: A session takes about 15–20 minutes.

Please read this before treatment

  • Little to no downtime; most people return to daily activities the same day.
  • Temporary swelling, tenderness, warmth, redness or mild bruising may occur for a few days, and swelling under the chin can be noticeable at first.
  • Follow the aftercare guidance we provide, and let us know about any concerns between sessions.

Safety & considerations

Possible reactions

  • Temporary swelling under the chin, which can be noticeable in the first days
  • Tenderness, warmth or redness in the treated area
  • Mild bruising at injection points
  • A firm feeling or small lumps that usually settle over time
  • Rarely, temporary numbness in the area that typically recovers

When to take extra care

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding — let us know at consultation
  • Active infection, inflammation or skin problems in the treatment area
  • A bleeding tendency or use of blood-thinning medication — tell your doctor
  • Recent fillers, threads or other treatments in the area — so timing can be planned
  • A history of keloid or difficulty with wound healing

what to expect

What to expect over time

A general guide to how the days and months after treatment usually unfold. Results vary by individual.

  1. DAY 0

    Treatment day

A brief stinging as the solution is injected, then warmth, redness and swelling under the chin. Most people return to daily activities the same day.

  2. DAY 1-7

    Swelling settles

Swelling under the chin is often most noticeable in the first days; tenderness, firmness or mild bruising may occur and generally eases through the week.

  3. WEEK 2-4

    Fat clears

As the treated fat is gradually cleared, some people start to notice a cleaner line. This varies a lot from person to person.

  4. NEXT SESSION

    Repeat as planned

A further session is usually scheduled a few weeks later to build the change gradually. (Results vary by individual.)

  5. ~2-3 MONTHS

    Review

After the course, your doctor reviews the contour and discusses whether any further session is helpful. (Results vary by individual.)

Sessions & results

A course of several sessions is common — often about 2–4 — spaced a few weeks apart, with the contour refining gradually as the treated fat clears and swelling settles. Your plan and the interval are decided at consultation, and maintaining a stable weight helps hold the result. (Results vary by individual.)

how it compares

How it compares

These options all refine the lower-face line, but they address different tissue, so the right one depends on whether the fullness is fat or muscle.

Before you decide, the questions people always ask

before consultation

  • When the fat cells in the injected area are damaged, the body clears them away over time. The change is not dramatic after a single visit, though; it appears gradually over a course of several sessions. QD V-Cut Injection cannot take the place of weight loss, and if your facial contour comes from bone structure or muscle, this injection will not change it.

  • Swelling and a firm feeling in the injected area are part of the normal course, and they usually last from a few days up to about a week. The lower face is easy to notice, so it is better to leave yourself some time before an important occasion. If the pain keeps getting worse or you develop a fever, please contact us.

  • We look at the shape with your head raised and with your head lowered, and at how thick the tissue feels when it is pinched between the fingers. If it stands out more when you look down and a thick fold can be held, fat makes up the larger share; if the line stays blurred even with your head raised, it is sagging. When sagging is significant, injections alone are not enough, so we compare other options alongside them.

  • It depends on the area and on how much fat is present, and we generally plan several sessions a few weeks apart. After the first one, we wait until the swelling has gone down and the area has settled before deciding on the next session. We do not fix the number of sessions from the start; we adjust as we follow your progress.

  • We do not recommend it. Safety during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been sufficiently established for this treatment, so as a rule we postpone it. Please also tell us in advance if you are being treated for liver or kidney disease or are taking anticoagulants. We plan the treatment only after going through your diagnosed conditions and your current medications together.
