qd body v-olet

V-Olet is a fat-dissolving injection based on deoxycholic acid (DCA), a bile acid the body also produces. On the body, it is used to soften small, localized pockets of fat — such as the arms, flanks or above the knees — to refine the line. At QD Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, we assess the area first, then plan the points and sessions. A session usually takes about 20–30 minutes with little downtime. (Results vary by individual.)

is this for me

Who it’s for

Even if none of these describes you, we will look again at the consultation.

  • Small, localized fat on the upper arms
  • Fullness at the flanks or love handles
  • Fat above the knees or on the inner thighs
  • Anyone who prefers a non-surgical, injection-based option

V-Olet is a deoxycholic-acid injection whose Korean approval is for under-chin fat; use on small body areas is decided per person. It suits small localized pockets, not overall weight loss. Suitability is confirmed at consultation.

Before you pick a treatment name, start with the cause of your concern.

start with your concern

Even a treatment with the same name takes on a different role and scope depending on your current structure, the change you want, what you have had before and the recovery time you have.

  • 01

Where you are now, and where we start

How far localized body fat extends on the arms, the flanks or above the knees, and skin elasticity

  • 02

The change you want, the impression you keep

Rather than adding more volume, we decide where to fill and where to leave alone, and the line at which expression stays natural.

  • 03

How it differs from similar options

We compare what filler, Botox and skin boosters each change and what they cannot change, with the alternatives alongside them.

  • 04

    Health information and recovery schedule

Beforehand we check blood thinners, immune conditions and allergies, past injectables, possible pregnancy and the dates that matter.

the
principle

We check the ingredients and their approved use, the target fat layer and the structures around it, and explain the limits of what injections alone can change.

Deoxycholic acid works at the membrane of fat cells in the injected area, so the fat is broken down and then cleared gradually through the body’s natural metabolic and lymphatic processes over the following weeks. Because it acts locally on small pockets, several points and sessions are usually planned for a body area. V-Olet is a deoxycholic-acid injection approved in Korea for under-chin fat; its use on small body areas is decided per person. The points and dose are mapped to your area at consultation.

Body V-Olet

How it works

  • 01

    A deoxycholic-acid solution

V-Olet places a solution based on deoxycholic acid (DCA) — a bile acid the body also produces — into small pockets of body fat such as the arms, flanks or above the knees.

  • 02

    Acting at the fat-cell membrane

DCA works at the membrane of fat cells in the treated area so the fat is broken down locally, which is why precise placement matters.

  • 03

    Cleared by the body

The released fat is removed through the body’s natural metabolic and lymphatic processes over the following weeks, so the line refines gradually rather than at once.

  • 04

    Mapped across the area

Because body areas are larger than the chin, the injection is mapped across several points and usually planned over a few sessions.

The same treatment, never the same plan.

the qd standard

Rather than a fashionable name or a fixed package, we weigh the structure found at examination, safety, recovery and the limits within one plan.

  • 01DIAGNOSIS FIRSTCause before nameWe first separate out the tissue and the function behind your concern.
  • 02LESS, PRECISEOnly as much as neededRather than an excessive change, we plan the smallest scope with a clear role.
  • 03HONEST LIMITThe limits, explained tooWe explain the change you can expect, the alternatives, individual differences and the risks.

From consultation to follow-up, planned as one flow.

personal plan

V-Olet is a fat-dissolving injection based on deoxycholic acid (DCA), a bile acid the body also produces. On the body, it is used to soften small, localized pockets of fat — such as the arms, flanks or above the knees — to refine the line. At QD Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, we assess the area first, then plan the points and sessions. A session usually takes about 20–30 minutes with little downtime. (Results vary by individual.)

  • Ingredients and authenticity

We check the product name, the maker, the ingredients, the expiry date and the use approved for that purpose.

  • Anatomy and expression

We look at where vessels are at risk, at muscle movement, skin thickness and the proportions of the whole face, then set the injection points.

  • Small amounts, one stage at a time

Allowing for swelling and the early response, we avoid overcorrection and top it up later if that is needed.

What the procedure is like

  1. Consultation and assessment of the area
  2. Cleansing and marking of injection points
  3. Injections of the deoxycholic-acid solution across the points
  4. Brief pressure, cooling and aftercare guidance

Time: A session takes about 20–30 minutes, depending on the area.

Please read this before treatment

  • Little to no downtime; most people return to daily activities the same day.
  • Temporary swelling, tenderness, warmth, redness, firmness or mild bruising may occur for several days, and the area can feel swollen or lumpy at first.
  • Pause strenuous exercise of the area for a short period and follow the aftercare guidance we provide.

Safety & considerations

Possible reactions

  • Temporary swelling in the treated area, which can be noticeable in the first days
  • Tenderness, warmth, firmness or redness in the area
  • Mild bruising at injection points
  • A firm feeling or small lumps that usually settle over time
  • Rarely, temporary numbness in the area that typically recovers

When to take extra care

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding — let us know at consultation
  • Active infection, inflammation or skin problems in the treatment area
  • A bleeding tendency or use of blood-thinning medication — tell your doctor
  • Recent fillers, threads or other treatments in the area — so timing can be planned
  • A history of keloid or difficulty with wound healing

what to expect

What to expect over time

A general guide to how the days and months after treatment usually unfold. Results vary by individual.

  1. DAY 0

    Treatment day

A stinging or burning feeling during injection, then warmth and swelling; the area can feel swollen or lumpy at first. Most people return to daily activities the same day.

  2. DAY 1-7

    Swelling settles

Swelling, firmness or tenderness in the area is often most noticeable early; mild bruising may occur and generally eases. Strenuous exercise of the area is paused for a short period.

  3. WEEK 2-4

    Fat clears

As the treated fat is gradually cleared, some notice a cleaner line. This varies from person to person.

  4. EVERY 3-4 WEEKS

    Next session

Sessions are usually spaced about 3–4 weeks apart to build the change gradually; larger areas may need more. (Results vary by individual.)

  5. 2-3 MONTHS

    Review

After the course, your doctor reviews the line and any further plan. (Results vary by individual.)

Sessions & results

A course of about 2–4 sessions spaced roughly 3–4 weeks apart is common, with the line refining gradually as the treated fat clears; larger areas may need more. Your plan is decided at consultation, and a stable weight helps maintain the result. (Results vary by individual.)

how it compares

How it compares

These options all reduce small pockets of body fat or shape the body, but they work in different ways, so the right one depends on the area and whether firmness is also a goal.

Before you decide, the questions people always ask

before consultation

  • The formula is the same; what changes is the area and the dose. On the body we work on small, localised pockets of fat such as the upper arms, the flanks and the area above the knees. That said, this product is approved by Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for the area under the chin, so whenever we use it on the body we tell you that first and agree with you on what can realistically be expected.

  • Localised fat that barely responds to exercise is exactly what this treatment aims at. Even so, the degree of change is not large, several sessions are needed, and if the skin has lost its firmness the contour may not look tidier even once the fat has reduced. At the consultation we check whether skin laxity needs to be addressed alongside it.

  • Concentrating the injections in one spot can leave the surface uneven, so we space the points out and distribute the product evenly. It is normal for the area to feel firm for a few weeks and then gradually soften. If the unevenness is visible to the eye it needs to be looked at, so please get in touch with us.

  • In the first days the swelling can make things feel tighter rather than looser, and it settles after a few days. A real change in circumference appears gradually over the course of several sessions. We recommend measuring the area before you start and then measuring at exactly the same point at each session, so that you have something to compare.

  • The broken-down fat is processed and cleared by the body, so please tell us in advance if you have a liver or kidney condition. This is also why we manage the total volume given in a single session and the interval between sessions. We only draw up the plan after going through your diagnoses, your test results and the medication you are currently taking.
