qd potenza pore tip
The Potenza pore tip is a radiofrequency (RF) microneedling treatment aimed at enlarged pores and uneven surface texture. Fine microneedles deliver RF heat into the dermis around the pores, prompting the skin to firm and refine over the following weeks. At QD Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, we assess your skin first, then choose the tip, depth and areas. A session usually takes about 20–40 minutes with little downtime. (Results vary by individual.)
is this for me
Who it’s for
Even if none of these describes you, we will look again at the consultation.
- Visible or enlarged pores across the cheeks and nose
- Oily, shine-prone skin with uneven texture
- Anyone who wants gradual texture refinement without much downtime
Pore appearance is influenced by oil, laxity and skin type. Whether the pore tip suits you, and how many sessions to plan, is confirmed during consultation.
Before you pick a treatment name, start with the cause of your concern.
start with your concern
Even a treatment with the same name takes on a different role and scope depending on your current structure, the change you want, what you have had before and the recovery time you have.
01
Where you are now, and where we start
Stretched pores and uneven skin texture
02
The change you want, the impression you keep
Rather than changing everything at once, we decide whether texture, pores or tone comes first, and set the order and the goal.
03
How it differs from similar options
We compare how deep a peel, radiofrequency or a care program reaches, and how the irritation and the recovery time differ.
04
Health information and recovery schedule
We check skin conditions and the medication you take, recent treatments and sun exposure, and the dates that matter to you.
the
principle
Needle depth, radiofrequency mode and tip are planned separately according to scarring, pores, sebum and inflammation.
Potenza is an RF microneedling system that can deliver both monopolar and bipolar radiofrequency through interchangeable tips. With the pore tip, ultra-fine needles create controlled micro-channels and release RF heat into the dermis where pore walls sit. This targeted heat encourages the skin’s natural repair process and gradual collagen renewal, which can help the surrounding tissue look firmer and the pores look more refined. The tip and energy are matched to your skin so that oil-prone zones such as the cheeks and nose are treated where pores are most prominent.

How it works
01
The needles carry the energy, not just channels
Ultra-fine microneedles pass through the surface and release radiofrequency heat from their tips into the dermis. It is this targeted heat, more than the needling itself, that prompts the skin around the pores to firm.
02
Heat placed where pore walls sit
The energy is delivered at a set depth in the dermis — the supportive layer around each pore — rather than spread across the surface, so treatment concentrates where enlarged pores are structured.
03
Interchangeable tips and RF modes
Potenza can deliver both monopolar and bipolar radiofrequency through different tips. The pore tip and its energy are matched to your skin so oil-prone zones such as the cheeks and nose are treated where pores are most prominent.
04
Refinement is gradual by design
The controlled heat starts the skin’s natural repair and collagen renewal, which unfolds over the following weeks. This is why pores look more refined progressively rather than immediately. (Results vary by individual.)
The same treatment, never the same plan.
the qd standard
Rather than a fashionable name or a fixed package, we weigh the structure found at examination, safety, recovery and the limits within one plan.
- 01DIAGNOSIS FIRSTCause before nameWe first separate out the tissue and the function behind your concern.

personal plan
The Potenza pore tip is a radiofrequency (RF) microneedling treatment aimed at enlarged pores and uneven surface texture. At QD Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, we assess your skin first, then choose the tip, depth and areas. A session usually takes about 20–40 minutes with little downtime. (Results vary by individual.)
Checking the skin
We first check for inflammation, wounds and infection, the skin barrier, and any recent treatments or medication.
Choosing intensity and area
To match the main concern — pores, scars, flaking or dryness — we set the tip, the depth, the contact time or the stage of care.
Restoring the barrier
We explain moisturizing and sun protection afterwards, how long to keep irritation down, and when to call about an unusual reaction.
What the procedure is like
- Consultation and skin assessment
- Cleansing and topical numbing for comfort
- RF microneedling with the pore tip by zone
- Cooling and aftercare guidance
Time: A session takes about 20–40 minutes, depending on the areas treated.
Please read this before treatment
- Little downtime; many people apply makeup the next day.
- Temporary redness, mild swelling, warmth or light flaking may occur for about 1–3 days.
- Use gentle cleansing, moisturizing and daily sun protection as we advise.
Safety & considerations
Possible reactions
- Temporary redness, a flushed feeling or mild swelling
- Tiny pinpoint marks or scabbing where the needles entered, and light flaking
- Warmth, tightness or sensitivity in treated areas for a short time
- Occasionally small areas of bruising, or temporary darkening in those prone to it
When to take extra care
- Active skin infection, inflammation or open lesions in the treatment area
- Current or recent isotretinoin, or recent peels, lasers or other resurfacing — tell your doctor so timing can be planned
- A history of keloid or difficulty with wound healing
- A tendency toward post-inflammatory pigmentation — aftercare and sun protection are discussed
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding, and any implanted electrical device or metal implant in the area — let us know at consultation
what to expect
What to expect over time
A general guide to how the days and months after treatment usually unfold. Results vary by individual.
DAY 0
Treatment day
Warmth during treatment, then redness, mild swelling and a flushed feeling that usually eases within hours. Tiny pinpoint marks where the needles entered may be visible. Most people apply makeup the next day.
DAY 1-3
Settling
Redness, warmth and any light flaking generally settle. Gentle cleansing, moisturizing and daily sun protection can resume as advised.
WEEK 1-4
Early texture change
Some people notice the skin feeling smoother and pores looking a little tighter. This varies from person to person. (Results vary by individual.)
ACROSS A SERIES
Gradual refinement
As sessions build and collagen renews over several weeks, pore appearance and surface texture refine progressively for many people. (Results vary by individual.)
MAINTENANCE
Review & upkeep
Your doctor reviews the outcome and, if appropriate, discusses timing for occasional maintenance based on your skin.
Sessions & results
Pore refinement is usually approached as a series, often a few sessions spaced several weeks apart, with changes appearing gradually as the skin renews. A maintenance plan is discussed at consultation. (Results vary by individual.)
how it compares
How it compares
These approaches all refine pores and texture, but they work in different ways and reach different layers, so they suit different goals.
| Potenza Pore Tip | Fractional laser | Chemical peel | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Method | RF microneedling — needles deliver radiofrequency heat | Light energy ablates micro-columns of skin | Acids exfoliate the surface |
| Where it works | Dermis around the pores, from within | Surface and micro-columns downward | Mainly the surface layers |
| Often chosen for | Enlarged pores with some laxity | Surface resurfacing and texture | Superficial texture, congestion and tone |
| Sensation | Warmth with light pricking | Heat with stinging | Tingling or stinging |
| Downtime | Little — about 1–3 days of redness | Varies, can be longer | Varies by peel depth |
Neither is “better” — they work differently and suit different goals. The right choice is decided after we assess your skin.
Before you decide, the questions people always ask
before consultation
It is less that the pore itself shrinks and more that the dermis around it firms up, so the pore looks less open. It does not change after a single session; it settles gradually over a course of treatments. Pores that have widened because of heavy sebum production or because of scarring have a different cause, so we look at other approaches alongside.
As a rule we plan three to five sessions four to six weeks apart as one course, and discuss maintenance treatments after that. The needle channels need time to recover and collagen needs time to form, so we do not recommend having sessions too close together. We adjust the number as we go, based on the condition of your pores and how your skin responds.
A fine grid pattern where the needles passed and some redness remain, and these usually settle over two to three days. Flaking can start around day three or four; please do not pick at it and let it come away on its own. For about a week it is best to avoid saunas, strenuous exercise and alcohol.
More carefully than usual. The skin has microscopic wounds at this point, so unprotected UV exposure can leave pigmentation behind. While the redness lasts, please stay indoors, and when you do go out we recommend sunscreen together with a hat.
We do not decide on the feeling of sensitivity alone; we check the condition of your skin barrier, any recent dermatitis and the medication you are using. Depending on what we find, we lower the intensity or postpone the treatment. If you are using retinoids or exfoliating products, we will tell you when to pause them.
