qd skin botox

Skin Botox spreads many tiny microdoses of botulinum toxin type A into the superficial skin, rather than deep into a single muscle, aiming to refine the look of enlarged pores, reduce surface oil and smooth fine texture. At QD Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, we assess your skin and oil pattern first, then map the treatment zones. A session usually takes about 20–30 minutes with little downtime. (Results vary by individual.)

is this for me

Who it’s for

Even if none of these describes you, we will look again at the consultation.

  • Visible pores and a shiny, oily-looking surface
  • Fine surface texture rather than deep folds
  • Those who want a subtle, natural finish without freezing expression
  • Anyone who prefers a non-surgical option with minimal downtime

Skin Botox is different from standard intramuscular botulinum toxin and does not lift or reshape. Deeper concerns may be paired with other options, decided at consultation.

Before you pick a treatment name, start with the cause of your concern.

start with your concern

Even a treatment with the same name takes on a different role and scope depending on your current structure, the change you want, what you have had before and the recovery time you have.

  • 01

Where you are now, and where we start

Skin texture, pores and fine lines, while keeping expression intact

  • 02

The change you want, the impression you keep

Rather than adding more volume, we decide where to fill and where to leave alone, and the line at which expression stays natural.

  • 03

How it differs from similar options

We compare what filler, Botox and skin boosters each change and what they cannot change, with the alternatives alongside them.

  • 04

    Health information and recovery schedule

Beforehand we check blood thinners, immune conditions and allergies, past injectables, possible pregnancy and the dates that matter.

the
principle

We check muscle strength and function and the balance of your expression, then plan the smallest effective range, only where it is needed.

Delivered as microdoses in the superficial dermis, botulinum toxin type A is thought to act on the small nerve signals to sebaceous glands and the tiny muscles attached to hair follicles, which may reduce surface oil and refine how pores appear, while lightly relaxing the most superficial muscle fibres for a smoother finish. Because doses are small and spread out, everyday expression is generally preserved. The effect is temporary.

Skin Botox

How it works

  • 01

Spread as microdoses, not one muscle

Instead of a deeper dose into a single muscle, many tiny microdoses of botulinum toxin type A are placed in the superficial skin across the treated zones.

  • 02

Acts on oil and pore signals

At this shallow level the toxin is thought to act on the small nerve signals to sebaceous glands and the tiny muscles attached to hair follicles, which may reduce surface oil and refine how pores appear.

  • 03

A light touch on surface muscle

Only the most superficial muscle fibres are lightly relaxed for a smoother finish, so everyday expression is generally preserved.

  • 04

    Wears off as signalling returns

The effect is temporary and fades as nerve signalling recovers, which is why a short series or repeat is common.

The same treatment, never the same plan.

the qd standard

Rather than a fashionable name or a fixed package, we weigh the structure found at examination, safety, recovery and the limits within one plan.

  • 01DIAGNOSIS FIRSTCause before nameWe first separate out the tissue and the function behind your concern.
  • 02LESS, PRECISEOnly as much as neededRather than an excessive change, we plan the smallest scope with a clear role.
  • 03HONEST LIMITThe limits, explained tooWe explain the change you can expect, the alternatives, individual differences and the risks.

From consultation to follow-up, planned as one flow.

personal plan

Skin Botox spreads many tiny microdoses of botulinum toxin type A into the superficial skin, rather than deep into a single muscle, aiming to refine the look of enlarged pores, reduce surface oil and smooth fine texture. At QD Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, we assess your skin and oil pattern first, then map the treatment zones. A session usually takes about 20–30 minutes with little downtime. (Results vary by individual.)

  • Ingredients and authenticity

We check the product name, the maker, the ingredients, the expiry date and the use approved for that purpose.

  • Anatomy and expression

We look at where vessels are at risk, at muscle movement, skin thickness and the proportions of the whole face, then set the injection points.

  • Small amounts, one stage at a time

Allowing for swelling and the early response, we avoid overcorrection and top it up later if that is needed.

What the procedure is like

  1. Consultation and assessment of skin and oil pattern
  2. Cleansing and, if needed, a numbing step
  3. Many superficial microdose injections across the mapped zones
  4. Soothing and aftercare guidance

Time: A session usually takes about 20–30 minutes.

Please read this before treatment

  • Little to no downtime; most people return to daily activities the same day.
  • Temporary redness, tiny injection bumps or mild bruising may occur and usually settle within hours to a day.
  • Use sun protection and follow the moisturizing and soothing guidance we provide.

Safety & considerations

Possible reactions

  • Temporary redness, tiny injection bumps or mild bruising that usually settle within hours to a day
  • A short-lived tight or dry feeling of the skin surface
  • Rarely, a temporary unevenness in expression if a dose reaches a fuller-strength muscle
  • Results are subtle and gradual rather than an immediate change

When to take extra care

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding — let us know at consultation
  • Neuromuscular disorders such as myasthenia gravis or Lambert–Eaton syndrome
  • Certain medications, including aminoglycoside antibiotics or muscle relaxants — tell your doctor
  • A known allergy to botulinum toxin or any ingredient in the product
  • Active skin infection, inflammation or open blemishes in the treatment area

what to expect

What to expect over time

A general guide to how the days and months after treatment usually unfold. Results vary by individual.

  1. DAY 0

    Injection day

Many superficial microdose injections across the mapped zones take about 20–30 minutes. Temporary redness, tiny bumps or mild bruising may occur and usually settle within hours to a day. Most people return to daily activities the same day.

  2. DAY 1-2

    Settling

Redness and small injection bumps generally settle. Makeup and normal skincare can usually resume as advised.

  3. 1-2 WEEKS

    Gradual refinement

Some people notice surface oil and pore appearance looking more refined. This varies from person to person. (Results vary by individual.)

  4. 2-3 MONTHS

    Duration

The effect typically lasts around 2–3 months as signalling returns. Duration varies with skin type and oil pattern. (Results vary by individual.)

  5. REPEAT

    Maintenance

A short series or repeat is timed at consultation, which is common for oil-prone skin.

Sessions & results

Changes appear gradually and typically last around 2–3 months. A short series spaced at consultation is common for oil-prone skin. (Results vary by individual.)

how it compares

How it compares

Pore appearance, surface oil and fine texture can be approached in different ways, so these options suit different aspects of skin quality.

Neither is “better” — they work differently and suit different goals. The right choice is decided after we assess your skin.

Before you decide, the questions people always ask

before consultation

  • Rather than going into the deeper muscle, the product is diluted heavily and placed in many tiny points spread across the shallow layers of the skin. The aim is not to relax a muscle in order to smooth out a wrinkle, but to work on pores, oil and skin texture. For that reason there is almost no change in the way your expressions move.

  • Some people feel that their skin produces less oil and that the pores look less open as a result. The change tends to be modest, though, and it differs a great deal from person to person. If the pores have widened because of scarring, or if the skin is very oily, another approach may suit you better, so we compare the options with you.

  • We treat the areas where texture and pores bother you, such as the forehead, the cheeks and around the nose, distributing the heavily diluted solution over many separate injection points. Because there are so many injections, we start by applying numbing cream, and once that waiting time is counted in, the appointment takes a little longer. How wide an area to treat is something we decide together at the consultation, after looking at how much oil your skin produces and what condition its texture is in.

  • Because small amounts are placed in the shallow layers, it tends not to last as long as an injection into muscle. Many people therefore repeat it every few months as upkeep. If you make a note of roughly when your skin starts to feel the way it did before your first session, it becomes much easier to find the interval that suits you.

  • We often plan it alongside other treatments that work on skin texture. If too much stimulation lands on the same day, however, the risk of swelling and inflammation goes up, so we separate the treatments by order and by spacing. Tell us what else you are planning to have and we will map out the sequence for you.
