Its main ingredient is polynucleotide (PN), DNA fragments obtained from salmon. Once placed in the skin, it works by supporting the process in which damaged tissue repairs itself. Unlike a filler, which adds volume to create shape, Rejuran works on the condition of the skin itself, so it is a different kind of treatment from one that changes how you look straight away.
Please be sure to tell us beforehand. The ingredient is purified, but if you have a history of allergy we weigh the decision to treat very carefully. Allergic reactions have been reported on rare occasions, so telling us exactly what you reacted to in the past and how it showed itself helps us judge.
As a rule we plan a course of three to four sessions three to four weeks apart, then look at how your skin responds and discuss maintenance from there. The number of sessions varies with skin condition and age, so we do not fix it in advance. Once a course is finished, we compare your skin with the photographs taken before you started and decide the next plan together.
Small raised areas where the product was injected are a common part of the course and usually flatten within a day or two. If a lump you can feel is still there after several days, however, or if it gradually grows, it may be a nodule and needs to be checked. If that happens, please do not rub it and contact us instead.
We choose according to your concern and the area being treated. Healer is used for overall texture and firmness; HB, which has hyaluronic acid added, when dryness comes with it; Eye for the thin skin under the eyes; and S, at a higher concentration, for indented scars. Rather than starting from a product name, it makes more sense to decide first what is troubling your skin the most right now.
