qd acne potenza

Acne Potenza uses RF microneedling to target the oil-gland activity and inflammation behind active breakouts. Fine needles deliver RF heat into the deeper skin to calm the areas where acne forms, and a delivery tip can place a chosen solution where it is needed. At QD Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, we assess your skin first and pair the treatment with medical guidance. A session usually takes about 20–40 minutes. (Results vary by individual.)

is this for me

Who it’s for

Even if none of these describes you, we will look again at the consultation.

  • Persistent or recurrent inflammatory acne
  • Oily, congested skin prone to breakouts
  • Adult acne along the cheeks, jawline and chin
  • Anyone wanting a device-based option alongside topical or medical care

Acne has many causes, and management is usually multi-step. Acne Potenza is one part of a plan; medical treatment or skincare may be advised alongside it. Suitability is confirmed during consultation.

Before you pick a treatment name, start with the cause of your concern.

start with your concern

Even a treatment with the same name takes on a different role and scope depending on your current structure, the change you want, what you have had before and the recovery time you have.

  • 01

Where you are now, and where we start

Active acne, sebum and the marks left behind after inflammation

  • 02

The change you want, the impression you keep

Rather than changing everything at once, we decide whether texture, pores or tone comes first, and set the order and the goal.

  • 03

How it differs from similar options

We compare how deep a peel, radiofrequency or a care program reaches, and how the irritation and the recovery time differ.

  • 04

    Health information and recovery schedule

We check skin conditions and the medication you take, recent treatments and sun exposure, and the dates that matter to you.

the
principle

Needle depth, radiofrequency mode and tip are planned separately according to scarring, pores, sebum and inflammation.

RF heat delivered into the deeper skin is used to target overactive oil glands and calm the inflammation that drives breakouts, while the micro-channels support renewal of congested skin. A delivery tip can place a soothing or sebum-directed solution into the treated zones. Because acne clusters in oil-rich areas, the doctor concentrates treatment along the cheeks, jawline, chin and forehead. It is generally combined with a broader acne plan rather than used alone.

How it works

  • 01

RF heat directed at oil-gland activity

Radiofrequency heat is delivered into the deeper skin to target overactive oil glands, which sit below the surface where breakouts begin.

  • 02

    Calming inflammation, supporting renewal

The same heat is used to calm the inflammation that drives breakouts, while the micro-channels support renewal of congested skin.

  • 03

    An optional delivery tip

A delivery tip can place a soothing or sebum-directed solution into the treated zones. Because acne clusters in oil-rich areas, treatment concentrates along the cheeks, jawline, chin and forehead.

  • 04

One part of a plan, working gradually

Acne has several causes, so this is generally combined with a broader plan rather than used alone, and change appears over the following weeks. (Results vary by individual.)

The same treatment, never the same plan.

the qd standard

Rather than a fashionable name or a fixed package, we weigh the structure found at examination, safety, recovery and the limits within one plan.

  • 01DIAGNOSIS FIRSTCause before nameWe first separate out the tissue and the function behind your concern.
  • 02LESS, PRECISEOnly as much as neededRather than an excessive change, we plan the smallest scope with a clear role.
  • 03HONEST LIMITThe limits, explained tooWe explain the change you can expect, the alternatives, individual differences and the risks.

personal plan

Acne Potenza uses RF microneedling to target the oil-gland activity and inflammation behind active breakouts. Fine needles deliver RF heat into the deeper skin to calm the areas where acne forms, and a delivery tip can place a chosen solution where it is needed. At QD Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, we assess your skin first and pair the treatment with medical guidance. A session usually takes about 20–40 minutes. (Results vary by individual.)

  • Checking the skin

We first check for inflammation, wounds and infection, the skin barrier, and any recent treatments or medication.

  • Choosing intensity and area

To match the main concern — pores, scars, flaking or dryness — we set the tip, the depth, the contact time or the stage of care.

  • Restoring the barrier

We explain moisturizing and sun protection afterwards, how long to keep irritation down, and when to call about an unusual reaction.

What the procedure is like

  1. Consultation and skin assessment
  2. Cleansing and topical numbing for comfort
  3. RF microneedling over the affected zones
  4. Cooling, aftercare and skincare guidance

Time: A session takes about 20–40 minutes, depending on the areas treated.

Please read this before treatment

  • Downtime is usually short; many people return to daily activities the same day.
  • Temporary redness, mild swelling, dryness or a brief purge-like flare may occur.
  • Follow the gentle cleansing, oil-control and sun-protection guidance we provide.

Safety & considerations

Possible reactions

  • Temporary redness, mild swelling or dryness
  • A brief purge-like flare as the skin renews
  • Tiny pinpoint marks where the needles entered, and short-lived sensitivity
  • Occasionally bruising, or temporary darkening in those prone to post-inflammatory pigmentation

When to take extra care

  • Current or recent isotretinoin — particularly relevant for acne, so tell your doctor and timing can be planned
  • Active, widespread infection or severe inflammation in the treatment area
  • Recent peels, lasers or other resurfacing
  • A history of keloid, or a tendency toward post-inflammatory pigmentation
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding, and any implanted electrical device or metal implant in the area — let us know at consultation

what to expect

What to expect over time

A general guide to how the days and months after treatment usually unfold. Results vary by individual.

  1. DAY 0

    Treatment day

Warmth during treatment, then redness, mild swelling and dryness; tiny pinpoint marks may be visible. Most people return to daily activities the same day.

  2. DAY 1-5

    Settling

Redness and dryness generally ease. A brief purge-like flare can occur as the skin renews; follow the gentle cleansing and oil-control guidance provided.

  3. WEEK 1-4

    Early calming

Some people notice fewer new breakouts and calmer skin. This varies from person to person. (Results vary by individual.)

  4. ACROSS A SERIES

    Gradual change

Over sessions spaced several weeks apart, often alongside skincare or medication, breakouts and oiliness settle progressively for many people. (Results vary by individual.)

  5. MAINTENANCE

    Review & upkeep

Your doctor reviews the outcome and discusses ongoing skincare, medication or maintenance based on your skin.

Sessions & results

Acne care is usually planned as a series spaced several weeks apart, often alongside skincare or medical treatment, with gradual change. The plan is decided at consultation. (Results vary by individual.)

Before you decide, the questions people always ask

before consultation

  • Acne Potenza is used on active acne as well. In that case we work with non-insulated needles, which release heat evenly along the whole length of the needle, so that oil production and inflammation are addressed together. If the inflammation is very severe or there are pus-filled lesions, however, it may make more sense to calm that down first.

  • Please always tell us which medications you are taking. In particular, if you are on isotretinoin or stopped it recently, your skin can recover more slowly, so we adjust the timing of the treatment. If you are on antibiotics or hormonal therapy, we check that as well before we plan anything.

  • Some people do get a temporary breakout after a session. It usually settles within a few days to a few weeks, but if it is severe or drags on, it needs to be looked at. Squeezing or irritating the skin during this period can leave a scar, so please do not touch it and follow the aftercare you were given.

  • Heat reaching the sebaceous glands works in the direction of reducing oil production. Because your skin type and your hormones have a strong influence, though, the oil does not disappear completely and it can increase again over time. We will explain maintenance sessions and everyday skincare along with the treatment.

  • Areas that become inflamed again and again are the ones most likely to scar, so it can help to look after them while the acne itself is still being treated. The order does change depending on how inflamed your skin is right now, and that is something we decide at the consultation. If there are already indented marks, we plan scar-oriented settings alongside.
