qd jawline onda lifting
Jawline ONDA Lifting focuses Coolwaves microwave energy along the lower face and jaw to firm the skin and refine the contour, where mild laxity or a little fullness can blur the jawline. Because microwaves at 2.45 GHz are drawn to water-rich tissue, ONDA can warm both the dermis and small pockets of fat along the jaw, while integrated cooling protects the surface. At QD Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, a session usually takes about 20–40 minutes with little downtime. (Results vary by individual.)
is this for me
Who it’s for
Even if none of these describes you, we will look again at the consultation.
- A softening jawline with mild laxity or slight fullness
- People who want firmness and a cleaner jaw contour
- Those who prefer a microwave-based option with little downtime
- Anyone pairing jaw care with a full-face plan
ONDA firms skin and can address small fat pockets along the jaw; heavier laxity may need a different approach. Suitability is confirmed at consultation.
Before you pick a treatment name, start with the cause of your concern.
start with your concern
Even a treatment with the same name takes on a different role and scope depending on your current structure, the change you want, what you have had before and the recovery time you have.
01
Where you are now, and where we start
Localized fat around the jawline and its elasticity
02
The change you want, the impression you keep
Rather than how much to lift, we first decide what impression to leave, then mark out how much expression and volume to keep.
03
How it differs from similar options
We compare how deep ultrasound, radiofrequency and microwave energy reach and what each does, alongside thread lifting and surgery.
04
Health information and recovery schedule
We check medication and conditions, any implant in the area, possible pregnancy and the dates that matter, then set the timing and intensity.
the
principle
We separate the target areas for Coolwaves microwave energy according to fat distribution and skin elasticity, and design the plan so that too much volume is not lost.
Along the jaw, ONDA delivers Coolwaves microwave energy at 2.45 GHz, which is preferentially absorbed by water-rich tissue so it can warm the dermis and small fat pockets that blur the contour. The warmth encourages firmness and a cleaner jawline, while integrated cooling protects the skin surface. Your settings and the number of passes are personalized after a skin assessment.

How it works
01
Microwave energy — Coolwaves
ONDA uses microwave energy at 2.45 GHz, called Coolwaves — a different part of the energy spectrum from ultrasound or radiofrequency.
02
Drawn to water-rich tissue
Microwaves at this frequency are preferentially absorbed by water-rich tissue, so along the jaw the energy can warm both the dermis and small pockets of fat that blur the contour.
03
The surface stays cooled
The handpiece has integrated cooling that protects the skin surface while the deeper tissue is warmed.
04
Gradual change over a course
ONDA is usually planned as a short course of sessions; a firmer, cleaner jaw contour develops gradually rather than immediately.
The same treatment, never the same plan.
the qd standard
Rather than a fashionable name or a fixed package, we weigh the structure found at examination, safety, recovery and the limits within one plan.

personal plan

Layer-by-layer diagnosis
We examine whether the sagging, the lines or the volume sit closer to the dermis, the fat or the deep supporting layer.
Mapping by area
We mark what to treat, what volume to keep and what to avoid, so the settings differ even within one face.
A plan built on response
Taking in how your skin reacted, how it felt and any earlier energy treatments, we set the intensity, the area and the follow-up point.
What the procedure is like
- Consultation and assessment of the jaw and lower face
- Cleansing and mapping along the jawline
- Microwave (Coolwaves) delivery with cooling
- Soothing and aftercare guidance
Time: A jawline session takes about 20–40 minutes.
Please read this before treatment
- Little to no downtime; most people return to daily activities the same day.
- Temporary redness or warmth along the jaw may occur.
- Use sun protection and follow the aftercare guidance we provide.
Safety & considerations
Possible reactions
- Temporary redness or a warm feeling along the jaw
- Mild swelling or tenderness in the treated area for a short time
- Occasionally small areas of bruising
- Rarely, firm spots or small lumps under the skin that typically soften and settle
When to take extra care
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding — let us know at consultation
- Implanted electrical devices such as a pacemaker, or metal implants in the area — tell your doctor
- Active skin infection, inflammation or open lesions in the treatment area
- Recent fillers, threads or other energy treatments along the jaw — tell your doctor so timing can be planned
- A history of keloid or difficulty with wound healing
what to expect
What to expect over time
A general guide to how the days and months after treatment usually unfold. Results vary by individual.
DAY 0
First session
Warmth during treatment along the jaw, eased by the integrated cooling; afterwards mild redness or a warm feeling that usually settles within hours. Most people return to daily activities the same day.
DAY 1-3
Settling
Any redness or warmth along the jaw generally eases. Makeup and normal skincare can usually resume as advised.
BETWEEN SESSIONS
A gradual course
ONDA is usually a short course spaced as decided at consultation; change builds gradually from session to session rather than all at once.
2-3 MONTHS
Gradual change
Over the course, a cleaner jaw contour and firmer skin develop gradually for many people. This is typically when results are assessed. (Results vary by individual.)

Sessions & results
A short course of sessions is common, spaced as decided at consultation, with changes appearing gradually along the jaw. Your plan is personalized. (Results vary by individual.)
how it compares
How it compares
For fullness along the jaw, these treatments differ in what they act on — ONDA can warm fat, while ultrasound and radiofrequency firm skin.
| ONDA Lifting | Ultherapy PRIME | Thermage FLX | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Energy | Microwave (Coolwaves, 2.45 GHz) | Focused ultrasound (imaging-guided) | Monopolar radiofrequency |
| Main action | Warms small fat pockets and firms the skin | Lifts lax skin at the SMAS | Tightens the dermis |
| Often chosen for | A soft jaw from mild fullness and laxity | Deeper jaw skin laxity | Firming skin along the jaw |
| Sensation | Warmth with integrated cooling | Brief warmth at each point | Warm heating cycles with cooling |
| Downtime | Little to none | Little to none | Little to none |
Neither is “better” — they work differently and suit different goals. The right choice is decided after we assess your skin.
Before you decide, the questions people always ask
before consultation
The contour looks different when you lift your chin and when you lower it. If it stands out more when you look down, fat is the larger factor; if the line still looks soft even with your chin raised, laxity is the larger factor. We also check how much tissue can be picked up between the fingers. At the consultation we make this distinction first, and only then judge whether ONDA is the right fit.
Seen from the side, the line carries on under the chin and into the neck, so treating the jawline alone can leave the lower part behind. How far to extend the area is something we decide together while looking at your profile. Keeping a side-view photo makes it far easier to compare later on.
For anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, spots that feel firm to the touch can appear and then soften again. This is part of the treated area settling after the heat has passed through it, and it usually subsides on its own. If only one side feels markedly hard, or if pain continues, it needs to be checked, so please get in touch with us.
Some of it does reduce with weight loss, but many people find that the area under the chin is slow to respond. Conversely, after losing weight the skin that remains can make the line look even less defined. If you are planning to lose weight, it is better to discuss the order of things with us.
They address different things. Threads pull sagging tissue up and hold it in place, while ONDA works on fat and firmness with heat. When there is a lot of fat, threads on their own may not hold for long because of the weight, so we sometimes separate the steps into stages. At the consultation we look at how much each cause contributes and decide from there.
