qd eye thermage flx
Eye Thermage FLX uses a dedicated Eye Tip to treat the delicate skin of the eyelids and the area around the eyes, where fine lines and hooding show early. Its small treatment tip delivers radiofrequency precisely to the upper and lower lids, the periorbital skin and the brow. At QD Clinic in Gangnam, Seoul, a session usually takes about 20–45 minutes with little downtime. (Results vary by individual.)
is this for me
Who it’s for
Even if none of these describes you, we will look again at the consultation.
- Fine lines and crepiness around the eyes
- Early upper-lid hooding or lower-lid laxity
- People who want to firm eyelid skin without surgery
- Anyone not ready for blepharoplasty
The Eye Tip treats eyelid and periorbital skin; significant excess skin may need surgery. Whether it suits you is confirmed during consultation.
Before you pick a treatment name, start with the cause of your concern.
start with your concern
Even a treatment with the same name takes on a different role and scope depending on your current structure, the change you want, what you have had before and the recovery time you have.
01
Where you are now, and where we start
Skin thickness, fine lines and elasticity around the eyes
02
The change you want, the impression you keep
Rather than how much to lift, we first decide what impression to leave, then mark out how much expression and volume to keep.
03
How it differs from similar options
We compare how deep ultrasound, radiofrequency and microwave energy reach and what each does, alongside thread lifting and surgery.
04
Health information and recovery schedule
We check medication and conditions, any implant in the area, possible pregnancy and the dates that matter, then set the timing and intensity.
the
principle
Monopolar radiofrequency delivers heat to the border between the dermis and the subcutaneous layer, with intensity and density adjusted to your skin thickness and how much fat there is.
The Eye Tip has a small treatment area, so radiofrequency can be applied precisely to the thin eyelid and periorbital skin with cooling and vibration for comfort. The heat contracts existing collagen and prompts gradual renewal over the following months, which may firm the lids and soften fine lines. The Thermage Eye Tip is cleared by the US FDA for the treatment of periorbital wrinkles, including the upper and lower eyelids.

How it works
01
A small, dedicated Eye Tip
The Eye Tip has a small treatment area, so radiofrequency can be applied precisely to the thin skin of the upper and lower eyelids and the periorbital area.
02
An early effect, then renewal
The heat contracts existing collagen for an immediate firming effect, and prompts gradual collagen renewal over the following months.
03
Cooling and vibration for comfort
Each pulse is paired with a cooling spray and a vibrating tip, which protect the delicate eyelid surface and ease the sensation of heat.
04
Firming, not surgery
The Eye Tip firms and smooths eyelid and periorbital skin; it does not remove excess skin the way blepharoplasty does, which is a separate approach.
The same treatment, never the same plan.
the qd standard
Rather than a fashionable name or a fixed package, we weigh the structure found at examination, safety, recovery and the limits within one plan.
- 01DIAGNOSIS FIRSTCause before nameWe first separate out the tissue and the function behind your concern.
- 02LESS, PRECISEOnly as much as neededRather than an excessive change, we plan the smallest scope with a clear role.
- 03HONEST LIMITThe limits, explained tooWe explain the change you can expect, the alternatives, individual differences and the risks.

From consultation to follow-up, planned as one flow.
personal plan
Eye Thermage FLX uses a dedicated Eye Tip to treat the delicate skin of the eyelids and the area around the eyes, where fine lines and hooding show early. Layer-by-layer diagnosis
We examine whether the sagging, the lines or the volume sit closer to the dermis, the fat or the deep supporting layer.
Mapping by area
We mark what to treat, what volume to keep and what to avoid, so the settings differ even within one face.
A plan built on response
Taking in how your skin reacted, how it felt and any earlier energy treatments, we set the intensity, the area and the follow-up point.
What the procedure is like
- Consultation and assessment of the eyelids and eye area
- Cleansing and careful mapping around the eyes
- Radiofrequency delivery with the Eye Tip, cooling and vibration
- Soothing and aftercare guidance
Time: An eye-area session takes about 20–45 minutes.
Please read this before treatment
- Little to no downtime; most people return to daily activities the same day.
- Temporary redness, mild puffiness or warmth around the eyes may occur.
- Use sun protection and follow the gentle soothing guidance we provide for the eye area.
Safety & considerations
Possible reactions
- Temporary redness, a warm feeling, or mild puffiness around the eyes
- Tenderness around the eyes for a short time
- Occasionally small areas of bruising
- Rarely, temporary changes in skin sensation that typically settle
When to take extra care
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding — let us know at consultation
- A pacemaker or other implanted electronic or electrical device — important for radiofrequency, tell your doctor
- Active skin infection, inflammation or open lesions around the eyes
- Recent eye-area fillers, threads or other treatments — tell your doctor so timing can be planned
- A history of keloid or difficulty with wound healing
what to expect
What to expect over time
A general guide to how the days and months after treatment usually unfold. Results vary by individual.
DAY 0
Treatment day
Brief heat with each pulse around the eyes, eased by cooling and vibration. Afterwards mild redness or puffiness that usually settles within hours. Most people return to daily activities the same day.
DAY 1-3
Settling
Any redness or mild puffiness around the eyes generally eases. Makeup and normal skincare can usually resume as advised.
WEEK 2-8
Early firming
Early firming of the eyelid and periorbital skin may be noticeable. This varies from person to person.
2-6 MONTHS
Collagen renewal
As collagen renews, a gradual firmness around the eyes and softer fine lines become more noticeable for many people. This is typically when results are assessed. (Results vary by individual.)
~6 MONTHS
Review & maintenance
Thermage is often repeated per cycle; your doctor reviews the outcome and discusses timing for a further session based on your skin.
Sessions & results
A single session per cycle is common, with changes appearing gradually over about 2–6 months as collagen renews around the eyes. A follow-up plan is discussed at consultation. (Results vary by individual.)
how it compares
How it compares
For the eye area these treatments differ in where they can work — the Eye Tip is cleared for the eyelids, while the ultrasound options stay off the eyeball and treat the brow and periorbital skin.
| Thermage FLX | Sofwave | Ultherapy PRIME | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Energy | Monopolar radiofrequency | Ultrasound (SUPERB) | Focused ultrasound |
| Where it works | Upper and lower eyelids, periorbital | Brow and periorbital, off the eyeball | Brow and periorbital, off the eyeball |
| Often chosen for | Eyelid firmness and fine lines | Fine periorbital lines, subtle brow lift | A subtle brow lift |
| Sensation | Brief heat with cooling | Warmth with integrated cooling | Brief warmth at each point |
| Downtime | Little to none | Little to none | Little to none |
Neither is “better” — they work differently and suit different goals. The right choice is decided after we assess your skin.
Before you decide, the questions people always ask
before consultation
Yes, it can. Thermage FLX has US FDA approval for use on the face including the eyelids, and we use a separate tip made specifically for the eyelid. The treatment does, however, have to be done with an eye shield in place, and we check the condition of your eyes and your ocular history first.
It is a thin protective disc placed inside the eye that stops the energy from reaching the eyeball. Anaesthetic drops are used when it goes in, so there is little pain, though you will feel that something is there. Your eyes may feel gritty for a short while after it comes out, and this usually settles quickly. Please take out your contact lenses before you come in.
Mild drooping caused by a loss of skin elasticity can improve. If there is so much excess skin that it hangs over the eye, however, or if the muscle that lifts the eyelid has weakened, surgery is what is needed. We work out which of the two it is during the examination and then tell you honestly how far this treatment can go.
No, it will not. The bulge under the eye is fat pushing forward out of its compartment, and radiofrequency cannot reduce it. Areas that look more pronounced because the skin has thinned may tidy up a little, but the fat itself stays exactly as it was. If fat is the cause, we will also explain under-eye fat repositioning to you.
Please tell us what kind of surgery it was and when you had it. We do not treat soon after eye surgery and postpone the session until you have recovered fully. If you are being treated for glaucoma or dry eye, placing the shield may be uncomfortable, so we discuss it in advance. If you are under the care of an ophthalmologist, we also check your treating doctor's opinion.
